 Bruce Caughey
Executive Director, Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE)

Bruce has served at CASE in various roles since 2006, and beginning in January 2011 as the Executive Director of our association, which represents more than 2,400 public education leaders across Colorado, including school superintendents, principals and other administrators. Bruce continues to oversee CASE's advocacy work, which focuses on leveraging the voice of CASE members in all meaningful policy conversations. He is intent on forging partnerships in Colorado and nationally with other education and community-based stakeholders and unleashing the power of CASE membership. As president of CASE in 2004-2005, Bruce focused on the needs of the seven CASE departments and served as the chair of the CASE Legislative Committee. He serves on many state level councils, including Governor Hickenlooper's Education Leadership Council, and speaks frequently on education policy, communications and leadership issues. Prior to joining CASE, Bruce spent 16 years in Douglas County School District, serving as director of communications and legislative liaison as the district grew from 13,000 to 50,000 students. Bruce is the author of bestselling guidebooks, including: Crete: Off the Beaten Track, The Colorado Guide (five editions) and Colorado’s Best (two editions).

 

                                                             

Mary McNeil
Director of Professional Learning

Mary comes to CASE with 14 years of association management experience as the executive director of the Jefferson County Administrators Association (JCAA). She understands the unique needs of school and district education executives and has dedicated her career to improving the quality of work-life for administrators. During Mary’s tenure, JCAA membership increased 120 percent. Under Mary’s direction, JCAA sponsored over 250 professional development workshops and programs, featuring nationally acclaimed experts in education, as well as local and state consultants. Successful peer mentoring and aspiring administrator programs have been another hallmark of Mary’s leadership impact.

 Cindy Stevenson
      Director of CASE Leadership Initiative

Dr. Cindy Stevenson serves as the Director of the CASE Leadership Initiative providing support to school leaders and school districts to positively impact teaching and learning, as well as school improvement efforts. She will help ensure a CASE presence at essential gatherings of school leaders and education policy makers throughout the year. Cindy brings to CASE a real-world grounding and has been recognized by her peers
as a former Colorado Superintendent of the Year as well as one of four finalists for the national award. Cindy has over 41 years of experience in public education and served as a teacher, principal, and deputy superintendent prior to being Jeffco superintendent from 2002 to 2014. She has had numerous other leadership roles, including serving as chair of both the Denver Area School Superintendents Council and Colorado State Principals and Administrator Standards Board, and on the boards of directors of the Public Education and Business Coalition and Jefferson County Economic Development Corporation. 
 

Susan Meek
Director of Communications & Membership

Susan joins CASE as the Director of Communications and Membership responsible for growing our network and enhancing the systems and tools to support and engage our members. Her foundational belief that communication is a dialogue and is the ongoing task of leadership is embedded within her strategic approach. Susan brings over 15 years of experience in both non-profit and for-profit organizations where she acquired a diverse skill set in communications, operations and strategy. Susan will leverage her experience serving as a cabinet-level school district leader with success in creating strategic partnerships resulting in more than $7 million in support of k-12 public education.
