CASSA Members,

This is a reminder that the CASSA Board of Directors is seeking a 2018-19 President-elect; representatives for the DASSC, Pikes Peak and Western Slope Regions; and an Emeritus Director. Serving on the CASSA Board of Directors offers a rewarding chance to interact with other superintendents and senior administrators from across the state and to hear directly from the CASE executive director about the direction of CASE as well as its advocacy and professional development efforts. The board sets the course and activities for the CASSA Department and helps connect what’s happening in the field to the work that CASE does on a daily basis. Board members gain a unique perspective on the issues and challenges facing their colleagues in other districts. Meetings are held five times annually, at the same time as other statewide events, and every effort is made to ensure time is well spent. CASE pays mileage reimbursement for all Board members.

The CASSA Board is organized by regions with members selected proportionally from around the state. It is important for the process to be open, transparent and to be understood by all CASSA members, which is the point of this communication. It is also a call for nominations to fill the following positions. If you are a Full-Active CASE/CASSA Member, you are eligible to serve on the Board (if you have any questions about your member type, please call the CASE Office).

2018-19 CASSA President-elect - September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2021 - one year as President-elect, one year as President, and one year as Past President. The President-elect presides in the absence of the President and serves a three-year term as a CASSA representative on the CASE Coordinating Council (the Coordinating Council meets six (6) times per year). Individuals seeking this position must complete and submit the nomination form, as well as provide to the CASE office five (5) letters or email communications of support from active CASSA members, to balbright@co-case.org by Tuesday, April 17. In the event more than one (1) nomination form is received, an election will be conducted at the Full-Active CASSA Member level and the winner will be the candidate receiving a simple majority of votes.

2018-21 CASSA Regional Directors – September 1, 2018 through August 31, 2021. Regional Directors must be employed by a district within the region they represent.
