Colorado Association of Educational Specialists
P
roposed Amendment to the CAES Bylaws

CAES Misson:
The mission of CAES is to serve as a dynamic voice for educational specialists in all Colorado public schools. Education is facing tremendous pressures from many fronts. If CAES is to maintain its position as a strong, collective voice for school administrators, it is essential that our members become engaged in department /governance.

PLEASE REVIEW AND VOTE!
Proposed Amendment to the CAES Bylaws

The CAES Board of Directors is pleased to present a proposed amendment to the CAES Department Bylaws.

The proposed amendment would add text within Section 3 of Article VI – Elections to provide clarity and guidance to the CAES Board of Directors and CASE Staff in the event of a mid-term vacancy in the role of Director-At-Large or CAES Secretary.  Specifically, as stated in the bylaws, the CAES Secretary is a board-elected role, with a full term of three (3) years. The proposed amendment would allow the Board to elect a full-term (3-year) replacement in the event of a mid-term vacancy.

The CAES Board requests your review and recommends approval of the proposed additional text. Please click here to access the current CAES Bylaws, with the proposed amendment as highlighted.

As specified in the bylaws, CAES members have thirty (30) days to approve or disapprove this amendment. After your thoughtful review, please click
here to cast your vote to approve or disapprove the proposed amendment. The deadline for voting is Wednesday, May 24. A simple majority of active members’ votes will determine approval or disapproval.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need additional information, please contact the CASE office.

Thank you,

Erica
