ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL – Roxborough Intermediate Elementary (Grades 3-6)
Responsibilities: Elementary school Principals in Douglas County School District RE-1 (DCSD) assume the responsibilities of building leadership; including but not limited to: student achievement related to curriculum, instruction and assessment programs, supervision of staff, students and all school programs, financial liabilities and goals. Principals assume responsibilities for student safety, staff professional development and evaluation, student support and discipline and parent and community relations.
Qualifications: Colorado Principals License, at least three (3) years of administrative/principal experience is preferred and the desire to make a commitment to Douglas County School District RE-1 Elementary Students and programs.
Critical Attributes: Elementary school Principals in DCSD form collaborative relationships with all stakeholders. Elementary Principals in DCSD have a solid understanding of the developmental needs and learning styles of Elementary students and are committed to providing students a rigorous and relevant liberal arts education. They inspire and motivate staff and students to perform to their potential and provide opportunities for continuous quality improvement. They are committed to helping schools define and expand choice opportunities for learning. They lead within a world class education system utilizing system performance measures to promote collaboration, communication, critical thinking and creativity. Elementary school Principals in DCSD have to understand and be able to adapt and manage change; including the ability to demonstrate leadership in the midst of managing daily activities. DCSD Principals know, understand and advocate for their school, community and the Douglas County School District as a whole. Above all else, DCSD Elementary School Principals put student needs first. Our Principals use the District’s vision, core values and the Board of Education’s Ends to make decisions and provide instructional leadership for all students.
