Andrew Moore, CIO of BVSD named to CoSN Volunteer Hall of Fame

Boulder Valley School District leader to be named to the 2017 CoSN Volunteer Hall of Fame

Englewood, March 21, 2017 – Andrew Moore, Chief Information Officer of Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) and president-elect of the Colorado Association of Leaders in Educational Technology (CALET), has been nominated and selected to be honored in the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) 2017 Volunteer Hall of Fame. Moore was nominated for this honor by his peers in CALET, one of the Colorado Association of School Executives’ (CASE) seven departments representing leaders in Colorado K-12 education.

Each year, CoSN honors outstanding volunteers like Moore with induction into their Volunteer Hall of Fame. Inductees include volunteers from committees, advisory councils, task forces, state chapters, and more. Moore has a been an active and engaged member of CALET, the state chapter affiliate of CoSN for Colorado.

Moore was named to the CoSN Volunteer Hall of Fame this year based upon “[his] tireless service over the past year,” write CoSN CEO, Keith Krueger, and Board Chair, Mike Jamerson. “Without [his] leadership and vision, it would be impossible for CoSN to accomplish all that we do. Our work is dependent on the hard work and generosity of volunteers like [Andrew].”

Reflecting on what it means to be a leader, Moore has said “I appreciate working with my CALET peers to effect meaningful, useful, and sustainable change in K-12 education…In any meaningful leadership role, goals and change may not be as easy as they appear. It is important to know that when things don’t go as quickly or as smoothly as possible, that is not the end. Keep your options open to move forward at a later date with more information and support.”

Moore has been the CIO at BVSD for seven years, after spending 26 years working in the private sector. In his current role, Moore is responsible for traditional instructional technology services, including supervising the service desk, IT operations and applications, and IT project management. Moore also supervises educational technology within BVSD classrooms, developing and implementing a strategic direction for the district. Moore’s work has been pivotal to bringing instructional technology resources to staff, students, and families throughout the district.

Moore will be inducted into the CoSN Hall of Fame in a special event on Monday, April 3 during the 2017 CoSN Annual Conference. CASE will recognize him and other CASE-national award winners during a special ceremony at the end of April, as well as during the 48th Annual CASE Convention, this July in Breckenridge, CO.
