2017 Jared Polis Foundation’s Teacher Recognition Awards: April 14th Deadline

Please consider nominating a teacher for the 2017 Jared Polis Foundation Teacher Recognition Awards.  Each year, since 2002, the foundation has honored 10 hardworking, effective and caring Colorado public school teachers (PreK-12) during the first week of May, which is national teacher appreciation week.  Anyone can nominate a teacher!  We’ve had student, colleague, staff, parent, and principal nominators all write nominations for past teacher honorees.

Each honoree receives the following:
$1,000 discretionary award for the teacher honoree
$1,000 teacher-directed school grant
$500 technology grant for the teacher honoree

The Jared Polis Foundation "Crystal Apple" award
Recognition in a half-page announcement in the Denver Post
Notices to the teachers' school district, board, and school community

All you have to do is either write a 1,000 word essay answering three questions that we believe demonstrate strong, effective teaching.  Or…

If you don't want to write it you can send a 4-minute YouTube video link to Gina Nocera via email (gina@jaredpolisfoundation.org).  Would you rather just talk about your teacher nominee and not be seen?  Please send Gina a 4-minute auditory submission--either via email or by mailing a flash drive directly to me at 1123 Spruce St. #303 Boulder CO 80302.  There are three different ways you can nominate your teacher of choice.

To read the guidelines please visit http://www.jaredpolisfoundation.org/updates/2017-jared-polis-foundation-teacher-recognition-awards.  The submission deadline is April 14, 2017.  All teacher honorees will be announced the first week of May.      Following are the required information and three criteria to address in your nomination:
