Understanding Amendment 66
Every day educators are developing innovative approaches to increase student academic achievement, engage and retain students, and support their learning. This is what educators – and education leaders – do.
Amendment 66 provides funding to help attract and retain the best educators in our schools and classrooms while also supporting the professional development of teachers and principals. Money raised will go to effectively implement recent education reforms and provide opportunities for all educators to continue to learn and improve. Funding will help support teachers and education leaders through implementation of fair and comprehensive evaluation systems and training on new state education standards, new state assessments, and continually improving student success.
The Amendment also provides opportunities for educators to share and expand their great ideas through a special Innovation Fund. A grant program, the Innovation Fund will support classroom programs that demonstrate success.
