Work Session

Event Description:

CASB, CASE and CEA in partnership with CDE and the Colorado Legacy Foundation are proud to offer this unique and exclusive learning opportunity. Every district is encouraged to bring at least one leadership team comprised of a school board member, superintendent, principal, and teacher. Teams will be engaged throughout the day in facilitated conversation and work sessions focused on helping you better understand the state’s approach to educator effectiveness and what that means for your district in terms of legal obligations and planning for school improvement.

Your team will learn from experts in the field, as well as from select partner and pilot districts currently transitioning to a new evaluation system. The session will include updates on the current status and timelines for SB 191 rules and legislation that impact your district. You will learn how to access and effectively use the evaluation tools and resources available to you. In the afternoon, you’ll participate in a facilitated work session designed to support your team as you collaborate on writing a draft or revision of your district's implementation plan for transitioning to a new evaluation model that meets SB 191 requirements. You and your team will leave the Summit with a draft plan you can share with your school community, as well as ideas for how you can best communicate your educator effectiveness vision and plan.

Who Should Attend

Every school district is encouraged to bring at least one leadership team comprised of a school board member, superintendent, principal, and teacher. Please send representatives from your 1338 Council or those leaders in your district responsible for implementing a new educator evaluation system. Because this is a working session, the team attending the Summit must have the decision-making ability to draft or work on a revision of your district’s implementation plan for transitioning to a new evaluation system that meets SB 191 requirements.

$50 per person

Both events are scheduled back-to-back at the Westin Hotel in Westminster, 10600 Westminster Blvd., Westminster, CO 80020 to make it convenient for district teams to attend both events.
