Girl with lunchbox photoIn the summer of 2009, CASE was awarded a grant from the Colorado Health Foundation to support our work around healthy schools. You know as school leaders that this issue is getting increased attention at local, state, and federal levels; all indications are that this will continue to be the situation moving forward.

From CASE’s perspective, it’s critical that we are involved in a way that is helpful, proactive and ensures that school administrators are a part of the conversation. Even more, CASE would like to be a leader in raising awareness and knowledge about student health and wellness practices. We need to connect our members with information and resources in this area. As health and wellness initiatives gain momentum, our goal is to help steer the conversation in a direction that is inclusive of school leaders, avoids unfunded mandates, and acknowledges the very real and serious budget issues that school districts currently face.

We will be building this section of our website and hope you find the resources and information helpful. Please contact Greg Benchwick, gbenchwick@co-case.org, with any questions.
