State Board of Education Information

CASE is thrilled to expand our advocacy work to include the Colorado State Board of Education. Increasingly, the State Board of Education and Colorado Department of Education (CDE) make decisions that impact school districts and it’s critical that CASE member interests and expertise be a part of those conversations. Given the scope of work and involvement, we will have in advocating at the State Board and CDE, we knew we would need to bring on board a second lobbyist with expertise in public education issues who would work well with our lobbyist Elisabeth Rosen. Our new second lobbyist Karen Wick brings a wealth of experience and served as a lobbyist for the Colorado Education Association for more than ten years and now works as a contract lobbyist for clients including Secure PERA.

Ensuring strong member engagement in this new advocacy priority for CASE is very important, and we have a State Board of Education Advocacy Committee comprised of CASE members. Similar to the CASE Legislative Committee, it is comprised of two members from each of our seven departments and any CASE member is welcome and encouraged to attend the meetings.
