The annual CASE Winter Leadership Conference, Excellence By Association, is the only conference that brings together public education leaders from every job position in the state during the school year. In addition to a robust agenda on February 19 and 20, maximize your learning by joining us on February 18 for a department-designed Pre-Conference Workshop, tailored to specific K-12 job roles.

Information about this year's Pre-Conference Workshops can be found below. Please note that all Pre-Conference Workshops require a separate registration fee.


 DBO — School Finance: Nuts, Bolts & Beyond 
 Designed for school business officials and superintendents

Focused on current and upcoming issues, this pre-conference workshop is an excellent opportunity to dive into topics that directly impact you as a K-12 business official. Whether you're exploring new operational or leadership strategies or looking to hear from state-level experts about policy and legislation, this workshop is sure to leave you better-prepared to tackle the many challenges facing K-12 education in our state. We are proud to offer a keynote speaker this year, more details to come!

As an attendee, you will leave with a stronger understanding of:
* How the intersection of recent property tax legislation, the State’s revenue forecast, and the new School Finance Act formula with shape school district funding,
* The future vision of PERA, after a discussion with PERA’s new Executive Director, and
* How to strategically plan for - and manage - a successful bond program  .

Come join CALET at our 2025 WLC Pre-conference Workshop Actionable Intelligence: From Promise to Practice! This year’s event will include a keynote session - Authentic Assessment in the Age of AI - from Aaron Schorn, Head of Growth and Community at unrulr. Shorn is a teacher, program director, and co-designer of student-agency-driven learning communities around the globe. At unrulr Shorn works to make learning more visible, collaborative, and joyful. His work is focused on apprenticeship, craftsmanship, storytelling, and providing adults and youth the space to turn their ideas into iterative realities. Aaron's professional background is in education, international business, digital storytelling, and operations/management. In addition to the keynote, this year’s event will feature breakout sessions for three distinct tracks of focus spanning: Leadership & Vision, Understanding the Educational Environment, and Managing Technology & Support Resources.

 Designed for assessment & accountability leaders, principals & assistant principals and any administrator interested in this topic

Exploring the Superintendency 

Designed for those aspiring to be a superintendent

This pre-conference workshop is specially geared towards aspiring superintendents as well as administrators who are considering whether they have an interest in the superintendency. Participants will gain an understanding of what is necessary to be a successful superintendent, explore their personal fit with the position and learn what life is like as a superintendent. Please join your job-alike colleagues from across the state for this pre-conference workshop, and then stay to attend the CASE Winter Leadership Conference.
